How do I view a property?
Viewings are conducted by calling the relevant branches. In most cases we arrange the appointments with tenants or in certain situations we do accompanied viewings.
How do I reserve a property?
Simply register as an applicant on our website. Your login details will be e-mailed to you. Once you have registered, use the search facility to bring up the property that you’d like to reserve. Click the ‘view details’ link and then the 'reserve property' link. You will need your full name, permanent (guarantor’s) address, telephone number, mobile number and e-mail address to complete this process. This applies to all applicants in the group. You will also need a "non-refundable" reservation fee of £58.75 incl vat per applicant. Once you have reserved it online, call your nearest branch to book a time for signing the contract. Generally, we take the reserved property off market for 10 working days (two weeks). This gives the applicants time to gather the security deposit, read the contract and speak to their guarantors.
Remember : you must book a time within these 10 days to sign the contract or the property will be put back on the market.
Where can I find a copy of the contract?
You can download a sample copy of our Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement by clicking here. Please ensure you have read through all the terms and conditions before coming for your appointment. If you have any questions or concerns, please call your nearest office, and we’ll be happy to help you.
How do I sign the contract?
All contracts must be signed in the Jordan’s office. Please ensure that you have read a sample copy of the Agreement for an Assured Shorthold Tenancy available for download from our website. Please note that this is a sample copy and what you have agreed with the landlord and/or Jordan’s regarding the duration of the tenancy. Specific terms will be built into the customised contract that you will sign in the office. Sometimes students prefer to reserve the property in person at our office an administration charge of £88.13 incl VAT per property is payable on signing along with your security deposit also due at the same time as signing the contract.
Does the rent include utility bills?
Unless otherwise stated in the property description, the advertised rent is "exclusive" of all utility bills.
What is an inventory fee?
Due to the introduction of new legislation effective from April 2007, we are charging an inventory fee for each tenant for all our fully managed properties with immediate effect. An independent inventory clerk will be required to carry out the inventories and not the landlord or us. Please contact your local branch for details about these charges.
